2022-2023 COVID-19 Protocols

General Protocols

  • The school district will follow USCDC guidance

  • Students/families and staff are responsible for monitoring their own health and staying home when sick

  • Vaccinations are highly encouraged

  • Masks are optional unless otherwise required by USCDC guidance

  • The district will continue enhanced sanitation practices and maximized ventilation in all district facilities and vehicles

  • Classes will be encouraged to use outside spaces

  • School nurses will administer COVID rapid tests to individuals with symptoms as long as they are available

  • BJHS and BHS athletics will continue COVID Return to Play protocol

  • The school nurses and physician will continue to meet regularly to review conditions and change protocols as necessary

  • The school district will not contact trace, publish numbers of positive cases, or notify the community of positive cases

Isolation Protocols

If an individual tests positive for COVID-19:

  • They must notify their respective school nurse

  • They must isolate at least 5 days regardless of vaccination status

    • They should Isolate away from others in their home

    • They should wear a mask when around others in their home

  • If they still have symptoms on day 6, they must continue to isolate until the symptoms go away

  • If they no longer have symptoms on day 6, they can return to school and 

    • Wear a mask until day 11

    • Avoid being around people who are at higher risk until day 11

  • It they had moderate or severe illness, they need to isolate until day 11 or until have negative test

  • If their symptoms worsen after isolation ended, they must restart isolation at day 0


Close Contact Protocols

If an individual is a close contact of a person who has tested positive for COVID, they must wear a mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5 regardless of vaccination status
