Dear Brunswick School Community, 

 Friday was the most tragic day possible in the Brunswick School Department. Anytime a young person loses their life, it is a profound tragedy. I know there are no words I can say to lessen the pain. As school board chair, I want to offer my deepest condolences to the Smith Family, friends, and relatives on behalf of the board. This is a family that has experienced a pain that no parent should ever have to feel. I am sure that in addition, the Brunswick School Department shares in this heartache for our neighbors.

 There is nothing that I can say or do that can fix what has happened, but I know as a community that cares like we do, that we want to acknowledge and let the family and everyone in our community that is hurting know that we care about you. 

 Brunswick High School Administration is communicating with staff to ensure that we are reaching our students and providing access to the support they will need. In the meantime, if you or your child needs help, the following are resources:
