REMINDER:  Water only is allowed during school hours!  This includes lunch period!  No energy drinks, coffee, soda, etc.

Information regarding upcoming schedule:

  • Reminder: Tomorrow, November 7 is a Remote Learning Day! All classes will meet virtually.
  • This year parent teacher conferences will be held on November 8th and 9th. Both days are half days with bus dismissal at 11:30 and walker dismissal at 11:35. The conference window is from 12:15-6:00pm each day.  
    • Teachers reached out via email on Monday, October 23 to schedule conferences with their advisees.
  • Friday, November 10 is a Holiday - no school!

This is a reminder for all beginning band students - you will need to have your instrument and your book at home tomorrow for remote day!

Auditions for BJHS’ production of High School Musical Jr. are next Monday and Tuesday, November 13 and 14 after school in the chorus room. Audition sign ups are now posted on the glass wall under the main stairway. Sign up spots are first come first serve. Callbacks will take place on Friday, November 17. If you are only interested in an ensemble role, you do not need to audition- just sign up on the ensemble sheet. Those auditioning should prepare a 1 minute cut of a song in the style of the show. See Mrs. Bosarge or Ms. Tarleton with any questions. We look forward to seeing you at auditions!

Student Council announcement:

- Spirit week begins on Monday, November 13th through Friday, November 17th. Please look at posters in the hallways for themes! Monday will be Comfy Day to kick things off!

- Our first dance will be the night of Friday, November 17th to cap off Spirit Week. Admission is 5 dollars, please bring your ID if you have it. There will be concessions for food, water, and popcorn too!

Be sure to check lost and found – all items will be donated on Monday, November 13!

Reminder:  The 3 on 3 Basketball games will be held today after school in the gym.

Community Outreach Food Drive Outcome:  1,439 items were collected!

4th place advisory: Mr. Leitzel with 159 items

3rd place advisory: Mrs. Bosarge with 204 items

2nd place advisory: Mrs. Hinman with 205 items

This announcement is for 7th and 8th grade band students who are auditioning for the MMEA District 3 Honors Band!:

  • Reminder that auditions are Thursday, November 9. We will announce our departure time and specific audition times as soon as we receive that information.

Pie Pick up is scheduled for Wednesday, November 15!  If you sold pies, please mark this date on your calendar!  Pick up time is 5 to 6:30 p.m.  

The Civil Rights team meets on Monday afternoons from the walker bell until 3:30. It’s never too late to join. So come and be part of the group that helps fight discrimination. See Mr. Levy or Mr. Kosak if you have any questions. We meet in room 312.

Fall Ball (dance) sponsored by the Student Council will be held on Friday, November 17 at BJH from 6:30-8:30. There is a $5 entrance fee.

The Book Fair is coming! The Book Fair will be in the Lobby Wednesday November 8 and Thursday November 9 for Parent/Teacher conferences!!! Stop by! 

SPORTS: 

All uniforms are due back at the end of the season!

Registration is now open for Winter Sports. Winter Sports include: 7th Boys Basketball, 8th Boys Basketball, 7th Girls Basketball, 8th Girls Basketball, 6/7/8 Cheering.  You may register online through Powerschool. 

Please follow the instructions below to complete your registration.

To register for a fall sport, log in with your Parent account  (brunswicksd.powerschool.com/public) and go to “General Forms” within Powerschool. The system will prompt you to report the date of your student’s last physical. This date must have been within the last two years; you will be asked to upload your documentation from that visit showing your student is in good health and able to play. You will read important materials and electronically sign off that you understand and agree to them. Students will be unable to participate in any practice or game until this registration is complete.   If you do not know your Powerschool credentials, please email powerschoolhelp@brunswicksd.org or call 207-319-1990.

Registration for Junior High Sports should be completed by Friday, November 10th, as practice begins on Monday, November 13th. We will be having try-outs for basketball depending on the number of students who register. Practice and game schedules will be released by November 3. 

LATE BUS INFORMATION:  The Late Bus Service will leave the Junior High at 4:10 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  If you will be taking the late bus or sports, clubs, or after school help with a teacher, you MUST get a blue bus pass from the Main Office.  Please come to the Main office in the morning before lunch if you are going to be riding the late bus!  Thank you!

    • Coffin Food Market - Open to all Brunswick Residents with school aged kids - Market is open from 3 to 5 pm weekly.

    • Creative Writing Club will meet from the walker bell until 3:45 in the library

    • Youth for Action Club will meet from the walker bell until 3:45 in the Cafeteria

    • 8th Grade Math Team meets in Room 208 from the walker bell until 3:30.
