REMINDER: Water only is allowed during school hours! This includes lunch period! No energy drinks, coffee, soda, etc.

On Saturday, we had 17 6th grade students, who advanced in the National History Day competition, compete at the state contest. Three of the projects won awards! In third place for their Group Website about Nuclear Fission, Jamie Woodruff and Toby Ranen won. In first place for their Group Website about the Black Panthers Free Breakfast Program, Paddy McIntire and Lilly Purnell-Amaez won. In first place for her Individual Performance about the Newsies Strike of 1899, Iris Powers won. Paddy, Lilly, and Iris have each earned a spot in the National NHD competition in Washington D.C. in June. Congratulations to them and all of the students who participated.

There will be a box in the main lobby where you can bring your eclipse glasses, so the school can get them to an organization that brings used eclipse glasses to people in places where they are having the eclipse but can't get them. Please drop off any gently used eclipse glasses by this Friday, May 3.
