As the school year winds down, it is time to gather up all BJH Library books and return them to their home on the Library shelves. The last day to check out books is Friday, May 29th, and all Library books are due back by Friday, June 12th.
Over the next few weeks, please take a moment to check backpacks, bedrooms, lockers, and anywhere else a book might be “relaxing” a little too comfortably. Let’s make sure every book finds its way back to the BJH Library so that they are ready, refreshed, and waiting for next year’s readers.
Today’s Book Talk:
At the end of the year, friendships grow stronger, voices get louder, and sometimes we realize it’s time to stand up for what matters. What would you do if the rules at your school felt completely unfair? In Dress Coded by Carrie Firestone, eighth-grader Molly is tired of seeing students embarrassed and punished over dress code violations while no one listens. So she starts a podcast—and suddenly, students across the school are speaking up. The book Dress Coded is about friendship, standing up for what’s right, and finding your voice when people try to silence you. Get inspired to start your own revolution and stop by the BJH Library to check out Dress Coded today.
Attention artists and visionaries: Don’t forget there is still time to submit your entry for the BJH Library Poster Contest to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday! The winning poster will receive a Lego prize! For details and contest guidelines, check out the flyers around the school or stop by the BJH Library.
