Positive COVID-19 Case at BJHS

Dear Staff, Students, and Families:

This letter is to inform you that a member of the Brunswick Junior High School community has tested positive for COVID-19.  School officials have been in contact with the Maine DOE/CDC and determined that 31 students and 5 adults are close contacts who will be required to quarantine. Those who are impacted are being contacted.

It should be noted that with every positive COVID-19 case, the district works directly with Maine DOE/CDC to determine the infectious period and contact tracing requirements, based on the impacted individual’s last day of attendance at school before developing symptoms or testing positive. Regardless of the determination around the need to quarantine, the district has made a commitment to transparency and will continue to report positive cases, whether further action is needed or not.
