BHS Symphonic Band and Honors Wind Ensemble TONIGHT! Wednesday, December 13th at 7pm in Crooker Theater the BHS Symphonic Band and Honors Wind Ensemble will present their winter concert "New Americana." The concert is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
Calling All Creative Students! It's time for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. This is the nation's longest running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. Teens in grades 7–12 can apply in 28 categories of art and writing. Go to Art and Writing.org to learn more. Art entries due December 18th.
Maine’s Portland Museum of Art is promoting its third year of a young artist competition for students ages 14- 22 to apply for the Tidal Shift Award. The Tidal Shift Award is a juried competition that aims to showcase, amplify and elevate youth perspectives and art to highlight climate change solution. The deadline is December 31st.

Youth Slam Poetry Competition Dec. 19 Port Veritas
SPORTS NEWS
BHS Boys Hockey The pizza tasted pretty good after Tuesday night's 4-1 win by the BHS Boys Varsity Hockey Team over Cape Elizabeth. Huge production came from the 'white line' of Garret "Money" Countway (1 goal), Evan "EZ" Zavitz (2 assists), and Asher "Ash" Williamson (2 goals), rounded out with the 4th goal by Avery "Tates" Tatham. The boys pressed their opponents to the exhaustion with some hard hitting, Herbie-style skating, and "picked up the trash down low" for 3 strong periods. Senior Bert "Bertie" Gerwig received the night's Fireman's Helmet for his outstanding hard work in the big win. Go Dragons!
ACTIVITIES AND CLUB MEETINGS
True Crime and Forensics Club meets this Friday, Dec. 15th, during Flex. The club will be using forensics to conduct a crime scene investigation and solve a mystery. New members are welcome, just get a pass in the Library before Flex on Friday!
More fun! There is student-led craft activity in the Library's Makerspace this Friday, Dec. 15th, during Flex. Come make origami dragon earrings and an origami dragon ornament! Get a pass in the Library before Friday Flex if you'd like to attend.Yearbook Club will be meeting after school this month TOMORROW Thursday Dec. 14th, and next Tuesday Dec. 19th.

We are going to start accepting cap, gown and tassel payments. The cost is $28 for 1 or $56 for 2. If you have a student that only needs their 2024 tassel, the cost is $12. The payment deadline will be March 1, 2024.
Please note, tassel payment can only be accepted in cash or check.

College Rep Visits have wrapped up for the year, but fear not! We will resume in January.
Every month in the guidance office we have colleges from all over the country coming to BHS for college visits. This is the perfect time to start exploring colleges you or your student is interested in and ask questions. Please look at the picture for a calendar with dates and times for each school visiting. A monthly update will go out in the google classrooms and via ReachMyTeach. The visits are scheduled for one hour with the college representative and will take place in the guidance office.
