DRAGON SCRAMBLE to Benefit BASAF
On Monday June 30, the BHS Class of 1980 will be holding their 8th Annual Dragon Scramble to benefit the BASAF.
Our goal when we first started the Dragon Scramble was to honor a faculty member (with a BASAF scholarship which will live on in perpetuity), who made a lasting impact on us, when we were in school.
Thus far we have been able to honor Kay George (over 40 years of service in the Guidance Office), Charlie Gordon (over 40 years of service in the Social Studies Dept.), Peter Gardner (over 40 years of service in the Math Dept, Asst. Principal and Boys Soccer Coach).
We are thrilled to be honoring Fred Koerber this year, (over 40 years of service in the Social Studies Dept, Coaching Girls Basketball & Boys Basketball, long time historian of Brunswick with his work on archaeology digs, Joshua Chamberlain and the Pejepscot Historical Society).
If you would like to make a donation to this long time educator and stellar human being, please send a check made out to
Brunswick Area Student Aid Fund

Brunswick, Maine 04011
Want to sponsor a golf hole?
This sign attached will be hole sponsor #3, during the scramble,
sponsored by Sarah Campbell, Ben Clark and Pam Wagner
All of our hole sponsor signs and banners designed by Class of 1980 alum, Theresa Lambert Slusher, who also played for Fred from 1977-1980.
Thank you, Sarah, Ben and Pam!
And, thank you in advance to all who are able to donate!
Yours in Scholarships,
The BHS Class of 1980
AP ART AND DESIGN
There will be a brief meeting in room 116 on Tuesday, June 10, at the beginning of FLEX, for all students who will be taking AP Art and Design next year.
AP Music Theory
Pick up your summer work from Mr. Duras before the end of the school year.
Honors Modern World Studies
Students signed up for Honors Modern World Studies (10th grade) with Ms. Wiley or Ms. White need to stop by one of their classrooms to pick up the summer assignment. It will also be posted on a Google Classroom (the code is on the assignment and will be emailed once rosters are finalized). There are extensive directions for you to follow to make sure you understand what to do. If students have any questions or would like an in person overview, you can arrange a time with Ms. White to go over the assignment before the end of finals week.
After school workouts in the weight room with 2021 Dragon Alumni (and certified trainer) Ethan Driscoll will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday from 2:30-4 until the end of the school year. All welcome!
THE 2025 DRAGON YEARBOOK has arrived! There are 10 copies remaining for sale and yearbook orders may be placed at school. Students may bring a check payable to BHS Student Activities Yearbook for $75.00 to Mrs. Driscoll at Flex.
****Student Device Collection****
Students in grades 9-11 must turn in their school issued device including the laptop, case, and charger when finals are complete. The device needs to be turned into the student's Flex teacher. No devices are allowed home over the summer. If a student will be participating in summer school, the device still needs to be turned in.
Next year, all students will have school issued Macbooks. No personal devices will be allowed as the district is providing a device.
There is a football interest meeting for all students and parents on Thursday, June 12, 6:00 PM in Crooker Theater.
Come meet the new coaching staff, hear about summer opportunities and about the season ahead.
Little Sparrows Clothing Closet
We are located at the address below which is on the corner of McKeen and Baribeau. It is across the street from a Brunswick LINK bus stop at Mallard Pond Apartments and a school bus stops within a block or two of our building. Which I would think would accommodate our Monday and Wednesday hours.
The ongoing tasks available to do will be to move and process clothing donations. This will or could involve:
-actually physical moving bags or boxes of donated clothing and shoes
-sorting clothing by size and kind/category
-labeling clothing and hangers
-restocking clothing racks as needed
-packing out of season clothing for storage
-bagging up unwanted clothing for "disposal" (all the clothing that we cannot use will be given to Apparel Impact, which does actually recycle clothing that cannot be worn anymore)
-some people may enjoy working with the public and may be trained to register patrons on our database
-our database actually needs to set up on Access still ( very current need)
-check patrons out by recording items acquired in our database on our checklists
-help customers bags checked items and put away empty hangers
-other people may also be able to assist patrons in finding the items of clothing they need
-designing or helping design a website for us is also a pressing need as we need one in order to get a .org email as the one we have is only a regular Gmail email and is already compromised and ineffective.
People are welcome to volunteer for 1 to 4 hours as works with their schedule. Our proposed hours are:
Mondays 12:30-4:30 only for dealing with donations
Tuesdays 9am-1pm fully open to the public
Wednesdays 1pm-5pm also fully open.
