Congratulations REAL School Class of 2022! You Rock! I’m proud of you!

Today, our graduating class of 2022 took a stroll down to Kate Furbish Elementary School for the parade of graduates. Our KFS students congratulated and cheered on our seniors as they walked past. Lots of energy and happy faces all around. Congratulations BHS seniors! #Brunswickme #BrunswickProud

We’ve started a new tradition to honor our departing school board members. Each time a school board member finishes their term, they are asked to select their favorite book, which will be donated to one of our school libraries. Margaret Chingos, Student Board Liaison from 2020-2022, made the inaugural selection! Margaret chose: The Selected Poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay. Pictured here accepting the donation are BHS Librarian Daurene Jerome and BHS Library Assistant Laurie DeCamilla. If you look carefully, Millay is on the BHS Library wall - one of the Maine authors prominently featured in our library. Thank You, Margaret, for all you have helped to accomplish these past two years. Brunswick School Department is undoubtedly better because of your steadfast advocacy for all students.

Join us at the School Board Meeting tonight - 7PM

The Brunswick School Department is currently working on a new strategic plan. We have partnered with Hanover Research and one of our primary areas of focus will be Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This new strategic planning process will allow BSD to reevaluate the district's priorities and set new goals for future years. To keep up to date on the process, please visit our website under strategic planning or view the planning process by clicking here.

This week, we celebrate our BSD Teachers and Substitute Teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week! I applaud the dedication and our teachers' foundational belief: All Students Can Succeed.
The extraordinary work our Educators do day in and day out is incredible. The support they provide to students, the high-quality instruction, and the individualized time they provide to our students do not go unrecognized. And I recognize the support they offer so students can succeed in college, career, and life extends well beyond our Brunswick Schools' walls. The countless hours they spend inspiring students, engaging their families, and supporting academic and extracurricular activities is astonishing.
On behalf of the Brunswick School Department, I want to thank each of them for being part of our district. Their passion, dedication, and resiliency are recognized every single day of the year - Thank You.
