What an amazing day for BJHS last week! 🎿 🗻

Our entire school had the opportunity to head out to Lost Valley for a school-wide field trip—and it did not disappoint! Students explored, connected, and enjoyed a day of fresh air, hands-on experiences, and time together outside the classroom.

A huge thank you to Principal Catanese for organizing this incredible experience and for securing the grant that made it all possible. And thank you to our amazing staff and parent volunteers who helped make the day run so smoothly—we couldn’t have done it without you!

Opportunities like this truly make a lasting impact on our students!

Winter Carnival at Brunswick High School was a week full of fun, creativity, and school spirit! ❄️🐉 Students got hands-on with activities like slime making, crocheting, hacky sack, henna tattoos, and more throughout the week, last week.
The celebration also included a spirited pep rally on Monday during Spirit Week, and it all wrapped up with an awesome dance on Friday the 6th featuring music from DJ Slammin Sammy. Thanks to everyone who helped make Winter Carnival such a great time! 💙 #BHSDragons #teambrunswickme #mainesuperintendent #brunswickhighschool #wintercarnival #spiritweek

Last week, the BJHS Unified Basketball team showed their Dragon pride by heading over to support the BHS Unified team at their game! 🏀🧡🖤

It was a special moment as our current 8th graders reunited with some of their former Unified teammates now playing at the high school level. The stands were full of energy, encouragement, and smiles as BJHS students cheered them on!

We love seeing our Unified community continue to grow and support one another across schools. Great job representing BJHS! #teambrunswickme #maineschoolsuperintendent #brunswickmaine #BrunswickJuniorHS

Today was an exciting day at BJH! 🧡🖤 Students and staff from BHS visited to meet with our 8th graders and help them prepare for their upcoming transition to high school. They shared information about classes, schedules, and what a typical day looks like at BHS, while answering lots of thoughtful questions. We are so grateful for their time and support in helping our 8th graders feel confident, informed, and ready for this next big step! #teambrunswickme #maineschoolsuperintendent #brunswickmaine #BrunwickJuniorHS

This week, 6 of our HBS classes are leveling up with the Maine DOE’s Winter Classic! ❄️💻 We are so proud to be part of the 5,000 students across Maine traveling this digital gameboard to master the tech of tomorrow! 🌲✨

Check out our digital adventures:

🎬 Two Truths & AI: Students became AI detectives! 🕵️‍♂️ They analyzed movie posters to spot "glitches"—finding weird text, missing details, or other strange things that shouldn't be there! 🤖❌

🧊 The Ice Kingdom: We stepped into a virtual winter wonderland using Augmented Reality (AR) to explore a massive, interactive ice village! 📱🧊

🎨 Machine Learning: Using Quick Draw, we went behind the scenes to see exactly how AI learns to recognize our doodles in real-time! 🧠✏️

From digital citizenship and computer science to AR/VR and the arts, our students are proving they are officially future-ready alongside thousands of their peers! 🚀🎓

This week, our GT Art seventh and eighth graders created incredible self-portrait collages using mirrors and a variety of materials. Inspired by artists like Norman Rockwell and Vincent van Gogh, students practiced sketching facial features before drawing their final portraits on canvas. They brought their work to life with paint, collage papers, oil pastels, colored pencils, and markers. Each piece is a unique reflection of the individual artist — and we couldn’t be more proud! 🎨✨
